I based this off of Wan Shen Lim's CMU Course Review format. Wan's practice of not only listing his courses, but also summarizing what else was happening in the semester + his additional responsibilities contextualized what he wrote; I think all reviews should do this, and I hope that I do the system justice.
Course Evaluation:
A course without stars might still be objectively good.
☆ = A good class that was, in hindsight, worth spending a quarter on.
☆☆ = A class that changed how I do research or my research process.
My third quarter at UW! Summary: No matter how heavy or light my quarters are, I always find a way to overload. Also, I’m rarely satisfied with my accomplishments, but I can confidently say that I’ve finished my first (school) year of my Ph.D. happy with the progress I’ve made.
